Mattia Ciaf (1991) is a visual artist or at least that’s what he claims. He uses images as investigative tools to observe contemporary society, consumerism, and mass behavior, collecting signs, habits, and small visual obsessions. His practice blends research, archive, and irony, moving between representation and reality, promise and short circuit. He is interested in sociology, visual culture, and garbage both material and symbolic with a particular attraction to overcrowded shops, trashy imagery, useless objects, and staged performances of desire.
